This was a project for my Audio for Visual Media class at College of San Mateo, where we were tasked with finding a five minute clip of video that we had never heard before and adding all of the SFX, ambience, dialogue, and music from scratch.
For my project, I chose the first five minutes from the opening cinematic of Diablo 4. This clip embodies a mix of adventure and mild horror, and there were many opportunities for interesting sound design. My recent foray in orchestral composition was my main focus and inspiration while composing the scores for this project. I had to be inventive while designing the sounds and Foley, incorporating a variety of household items as well as 35% of the sounds in the project being white noise manipulated with various techniques. Working with voice actors to record dialogue for this project was an informative experience that I came to enjoy over time. Overall, I have spent over seventy hours on this project and it has become something that I am very proud to share.
