Better Days was my first foray into solo music publishing, being written all by myself within the span of a summer. This EP may seem stylistically eclectic at first, but the core ideas of making progress towards self-betterment is made apparent throughout the project.
"New Beginnings" is an introductory song written on my feelings of trying to improve myself and documenting my thoughts through the duration of the project. This short and sweet song features vocals and ukulele, a homely combination meant to feel small and intimate
"A Stupid Love Song I Wrote" is a self explanatory title featuring vocals and ukulele in a giant soundscape filled with reverb.
"Wandering Thoughts" was written in response to a case of writer's block during the development of the project. I decided that, while it was less focused on the primary goal of the EP, it was an important part of the writing process that I wanted to share. Not every creative project can always follow the core goals it started with, and I wanted to use this song to show that.
"In It for the Long Run" is the fourth and final piece on Better Days and is a feel-good song of acceptance. This song focuses on the need to move forward no matter what happens. I wanted this song to embody the feeling of commitment and enjoyment in wanting to keep going regardless of what life throws at you.
